Who are we?
We are the Greater Rochester Bio Cluster,
a not-for-profit “organization of organizations” under the sponsorship
of the High Tech Business Council
who desire to optimize business excellence individually and collectively
by working together in an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
Our constituents are member and prospect organizations that (a)
drive economic development within the biosciences and (b) aspire
to work cooperatively to our mutual benefit.
These organizations include:
- Developers
- Producers
- Scientists
- Laboratories
- Academics
- Economic developers
- Governmental agents and officials
- Service providers to and customers of the
above
What is A Cluster?
A “cluster” is an extension of the
natural tendency for businesses in the same industry to engage
in activities of mutual benefit to take advantage of opportunities
that cannot be exploited fully by individual companies, among
them joint projects and research, purchasing and training consortia,
marketing and promotion, and recruiting.
